Every great business has a story — and ours began with a nickname and a smile.
The name “Special K” was given to me by a couple I met while working at Sugar Beach Resort in St. Lucia. I wasn’t employed by the resort directly — I was one of the first private drivers to pick them up when they arrived at the property. After I dropped them off at their villa to meet their butler, I offered them a personal tour of the resort grounds, which stretch over 100 acres of stunning beauty.
Over the course of their stay, I picked them up a few more times, along with other guests. But before the couple left the island, they made a special request: they wanted me to be their driver one last time.
That day, they said something I’ll never forget:
“You’re one of a kind, and since your name starts with K, we’re calling you Special K! We’ve never had a driver who made us feel so welcome, so happy.”
They even wrote a glowing review to Sugar Beach Resort, sharing the nickname they gave me and telling the team that none of the other drivers compared.
From That Moment On, Special K Tours Was Born
Fueled by that meaningful connection and my love for showing off the beauty of St. Lucia, I decided to turn that nickname into something more.
